Parties & Events 2018

2018 EXPO final2

Las Vegas in August is … hot.  But at EXPO 2018, things will get even hotter at night with the parties and special events planned for the 26th EXPO at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, August 19-22.

With three days packed full of Staff Training Seminars, a Keynote Address, the Legal & Marketing Panels, and a two-day, 100-booth Tradeshow, it’s clear that the Annual Gentlemen’s Club EXPO is about doing business. But it’s also about having a great time!  As is the case each year, EXPO 2018 will be packed with evening events, parties and the Annual ED’s Awards Show, all designed to allow attendees to network, get caught up with old friends, make new friends and ... PARTY!

While full details for EXPO 2018’s evening events are TBA, here are the great events at the Hard Rock from EXPO 2017

24X80gooseFirst-ever "Hospitality Lounge” to greet EXPO 2017 Attendees
at Goose Island Pub
Sunday, August 27, 11am-5pm

Pick up your EXPO badges and wait for your hotel room in style with free food from Goose Island Pub, courtesy of ED Publications and Lounge sponsors Pure Risk Solutions and Club Control Systems.
Traffic on the highway, lines at the grocery store, being placed on hold — no matter who you are or where you’re from, no one likes to wait. At the 25th Anniversary EXPO, we can’t exactly eliminate the waiting, but we’ll make it a lot more comfortable with our first-ever Hospitality Lounge at the Goose Island Pub inside the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino.

Starting at 11 am on Sunday, August 27th, pre-registered EXPO sponsors, exhibitors and attendees will pick up their badges—and have some killer, complimentary food!—at the Goose Island Pub, located just a stone’s throw away from the hotel registration desk and smack dab in the middle of the casino floor.  In addition to the complimentary food, there will also be free coffee and tea, and there’s a full cash bar and craft beers on hand as well.

The EXPO Hospitality Lounge is being sponsored by John Jacquat of Pure Risk Solutions and Warren Cato of Club Control Systems, in conjunction with Neon and Merchant Lynx Services.

“Whether you’re waiting for your hotel room to be ready upon check in, or you simply want to get your EXPO 2017 experience started on a relaxed note, the Hospitality Lounge at the Goose Island Pub is the place to be,” says ED Publisher Don Waitt, noting that because the Hard Rock is still considered a “boutique” hotel, some guests’ rooms may not be ready until 5 pm on the day of check in. “Forget about waiting in lines at the main EXPO registration desk and instead, have something to eat and mingle with fellow EXPO attendees in a private, industry-only environment.”

• Pick up your badges in advance!

• Grab your Official EXPO Program Guide, Yearbook and Goodie Bag!
• Fill up on some FREE Goose Island pub food!
• Full liquor and craft beer cash bar!
• Relax and get your EXPO experience started on a high note!

An eclectic jewel box, Vanity is adorned with pearls and hand cut crystals fused with bronze and gold, surrounded by antique mirrors, rubbed brass and black chrome. The startling sumptuousness of velvets, deep satins and rich tapestries add to the gleaming textures throughout the club, creating a perfect backdrop of reflective brilliance. sm2017-ED-Awards-20th Annual ED’s Awards Show at The Joint Theater
Tuesday, August 29, 9-11 pm (8-9 pm reception)

Show will honor industry’s top clubs and entertainers, and will feature headline performances by world-renown act Recycled Percussion

On August 29th, 2017, the entire adult nightclub industry will be focused on The Joint Theater at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas to find out which adult clubs and feature entertainers take home top honors for the ED’s 20th Annual Adult Nightclub & Exotic Dancer Awards. The industry’s only national awards show is held each year at the Annual Gentlemen’s Club EXPO, and this year the 25th Anniversary EXPO will host the ED’s Awards Show at The Joint Theater inside the Hard Rock on Tuesday, August 29th. Famed Vegas act Recycled Percussion will headline the show, which will also feature command performances by the ED’s Entertainer of the Year nominees.

Whether seen as a finalist on "America's Got Talent" or at their own Vegas show, at the 2017 EXPO, attendees will witness them ignite the stage at the Hard Rock's Joint Theater on Tuesday, August 29th. RECYCLED PERCUSSION is the featured act at this year's ED's Awards Show, and will perform throughout the evening as ED Publications (producers of the Annual EXPO and Awards Show) present Awards to the industry's top adult nightclubs and feature entertainers. Called "flat out bad bass" by the Las Vegas Review Journal and featured on "The Today Show," Recycled Percussion has performed over 4,000 shows and over 400 corporate events in over 15 countries since their smash performance on "America's Got Talent" (2009 season).

"While EXPO and Awards Show guests have seen lots of great acts over the past two decades, they've never seen anything like Recycled Percussion," says ED Publications' Associate Publisher, Dave Manack. "This year's ED's Awards Show will kick off with a bang, and there's no telling where the show goes from there!"

Among the adult nightclub voting categories, the most prestigious category is the “Overall Gentlemen’s Club of the Year” Award. This year, 10 clubs across the U.S. count themselves among the very best in the industry. They are (in alphabetical order): Delilah’s in Philadelphia; E11EVEN in Miami; Fantasy Castle in Long Beach; Gold Club in Charlotte, NC; Hustler Club in E St. Louis, IL; Penthouse Club in Baton Rouge, LA; Platinum 84 in Denver; Scarlett’s Cabaret in Hallandale (Miami); Scores in New York City; and Spearmint Rhino in Las Vegas.

Among the six entertainer award categories, the most prestigious is the Overall Entertainer of the Year Award, as each nominee performs live during the ED’s Awards Show at The Joint. Two Entertainer of the Year (EOY) nominees were decided by the EDI (Exotic Dancer Invitational) East & West Contests; Aria Moon won the Showgirl Division at the EDI East (Pony Club, Indianapolis), while Natasha Nova took home top Showgirl Division honors at the EDI West (Platinum 84, Denver). The third EOY nominee — Angela Sommers — was chosen based on results from the pre-nomination voting ballot. Reigning EOY Lacey Rain will be on hand to pass on the award to the incoming Entertainer of the Year.

In keeping with the 25th Anniversary EXPO theme, this year's show at The Joint Theater is a semi-formal affair. Awards Special Presenters will include former ED Hall of Fame inductees and Entertainer of the Year winners and nominees, and the show will be co-emceed by DJ Platypus and the beautiful adult starlet, feature entertainer and Penthouse Pet, Jayden Cole

Note: Several awards will also be presented the previous evening at the EXPO’s Opening Night Party on Monday, August 28th, at the Hard Rock’s Vanity Nightclub.

Tickets are $89 and can be purchased by calling the ED offices at (727) 726-3592 or online here (add link) prior to the EXPO . On site, tickets can be purchased at the EXPO registration desk at the Hard Rock.

E.D. Publications Presents The 2016 ED’s Awards Show

EXPO 2016 marked the 24th year of the adult nightclub industry’s only national convention and trade show, and marked the 19th year of the Annual ED Awards where the industry’s top nightclubs, staff members and feature entertainers are honored. The ED's Awards Show were hosted by top comedian Colin Kane, and were held directly across the street from EXPO host hotel, the Hilton Riverside, at The Theatre inside Harrah's Casino. Billed by Dennis Miller as “the next really big comedian” and described by fans as "acerbic and brilliant", Colin Kane made his film debut in a breakout role opposite Kevin Hart in “The Wedding Ringer,” which was the #1 comedy in America for three weeks in a row. He has a special on Showtime, won Howard Stern’s “Kill or Be Killed” comedy competition and performs for our troops whenever possible through the Wounded Warrior Project.

Continental Breakfasts—Cajun Style

DSC 9062DSC 9044Networking and sharing ideas with like-minded club owners and general managers is as important as the educational Staff Training Seminars and the Industry Professional Panel Sessions at EXPO. The Continental Breakfast each morning before the start of the day’s sessions was a great opportunity for EXPO attendees to fuel up for the day and spend time with other attendees.

As producers of industry conventions for more than 25 years, we know that the formula for a successful event means offering attendees a show that is informative, enlightening, educational—and fun!  That's why we hold our panel sessions and seminars in the morning and early afternoon, and then do the Tradeshow late afternoon and early evening with plenty of music and cocktails.  Our Tradeshows are parties unto themselves, and we have found that a relaxed setting appeals to the vendors manning the booths and the buyers walking the aisles.

Register before May 1 to receive substantial discounts.  Go to the Special Discounts page for more details.  Awards Show tickets sold separately.

While online or on the phone, be sure to order your awards show tickets for the 2018 EXOTIC DANCER Awards Show on Tuesday night during EXPO 2018; awards show tickets are regularly $89 each but can be bought at the discounted rate of $69 per ticket through May 1.

“I got to put something from EXPO to use already. A customer came in and I escorted him to the bar to take his admission fee. He says, ‘Where have you been? I was here earlier and you weren’t.’ I ask when he was here, and he says a half hour ago. I tell him I have been in the club for hours. The customer says, ‘No, I was here for like 20 minutes just sitting here.’ Now my instinct is to continue explaining that he is mistaken, but I recall from one of the EXPO panels that being right isn’t as important as having a happy customer. So I apologized for the inconvenience and bought him a drink. Now my happy customer is buying private dances instead of complaining about the club. Thanks to whichever speaker got through to me.”
— Stephen Dick, Nite Moves Gentlemen’s Club, Latham, NY

“We look forward to the EXPO every year to see our friends, to continue building strong relationships and to meet new club owners. The EXPO is like no other! Lots of entertainment, an incredible amount of sharing great knowledge and tools for club owners, encouraging and celebrating accomplishments with Awards Show night. For club owners, this show is a must!”
— Marsha Long, Alpha Patterned Carpets, GA

“We felt EXPO was a great success. We all enjoyed our time with everyone. We have potential licensing agreements from our exposure at the trade show. We are looking to expand the Babe’s brand and the EXPO has played a tremendous part in helping us develop and market the Babe’s Cabaret brand.”
— Charles, Jordan and Darren Bass, Babe’s NOLA, LA and NJ

“I enjoyed the show. It was my first time. I believe my presentation was well received. I already have more than 50 contacts that I followed up with as a result of receiving their business card at the show. It has been fruitful.”
— Trevor Estelle, TIPS, VA

“One of the first things I did when I branched out into my club’s marketing was to reach out to Exotic Dancer’s Club Bulletin Magazine. I knew that if my club wanted to be taken seriously within the industry, we had to be in this magazine every month. For an urban club that helps tremendously because this particular sector is not well known, especially around EXPO. Because our club was being featured in the magazine it helped our exposure within the industry tremendously.”
— DC Glenn, EXPO panelist, formerly with Strokers and Magic City in Atlanta

“The EXPO was great for us. A week out and we’ve more than doubled our previous best client sign up. Looking forward to the home cooking of Vegas next year.”
— Duffy Franclemont, J Dog Media, FL

“We hope that you bring the dancers competition back onto the trade show floor or do something to give the attendees a reason to come into the exhibit hall, especially on the second day. We are looking forward to the show again next year and we plan to exhibit as we have for most of the past 20-plus years.”
— Paul Artt, QnC, Dallas

“The return on the EXPO has exceeded my expectations. While several of the larger clubs already use our program, many of the smaller ones do not. Also, I thought the quality of the attendees was great. I go to a lot of conferences that brag about the huge number of attendees. Unfortunately, the quality of these attendees are not nearly as fruitful as your attendees. We walked out of there with our first ever marketing programs signed at a show and came home with more than 70 leads that were interested in our services. We can’t thank you enough. We will definitely see you next year!”
— Scott Jelinski, Moving Targets, PA

“Love the entire event. From the PANDA party pre-EXPO to bowling. This year was my second year and I learned so much. I didn’t go to as many DJ panels because I wanted to learn more about other areas and I did. It was great!”
— Jerry Butler, The Ritz, Houston

“Thoroughly enjoyed my first EXPO experience. I came back refreshed, with new ideas, new contacts and an enthusiasm to get back to work.”
— Jay Hatch, Paradise Found, Syracuse, NY

“A House Mom Seminar next year would be great, teaching the skills of this business from a house moms’ view. Also a seminar on being a better manager from the time you walk in the door to the time you lock up. I’d like to know what other managers do when there for a shift, i.e. walk the floor, run to walk in, pick up after waitresses, paperwork, social media.”
— Eric Anthony, Rhode Island Dolls, RI

“I always enjoy the EXPO. I get to see people I know, and I always meet new people.”
— Myles Shaffer, AINews.com

“The learning opportunities at EXPO are fabulous if you go in with that as your goal.”
— Kira Mundhenk, Double Visions, Horsham, PA

“Fantastic networking with other ACE chapters, the club owners and attorneys. Thanks for bringing COAST training to EXPO!”
— Jill Chambers, Goodtime Emporium, Atlanta

“I’d like to see lighting systems for clubs and live events on the trade show floor.”
— Jeremy Sweigert, Teasers, Jamme Holdings, PA

“More seminars on bar revenue and bartender and server training, and live entertainment on a stage in the trade show.”
—Shon Boulden, Devil’s Point, Portland, OR

“A great experience with good times all around. Can’t wait to attend again!”
— Jessie Hagan, The Lucky Lady, Evansville, IN

“Thank you so much for the opportunity!  We had a successful show and will surely be back next year. Cheers!”
— Terra and Paul Saunders of Waitressville

“I’ve been to all of the EXPOs and this year showed a real upturn in quality buyers. As a ATM vendor we can face some serious competition in the market but this year we saw some great traffic on both days of the tradeshow. We’re looking forward to seeing where exactly EXPO will be next year.”
— Richard Bantock, Tampa Biz Brokers/All American ATMs

“I felt that the tradeshow in Nola was better than in years before you could feel the energy coming in and out of the rooms. It was more intimate setting to do business compared to the wide open space of a Vegas showroom. As a consultant and broker I conduct a lot of business through networking, but from the tradeshow alone my associates helped me gather 27 leads.”
— Richard Shauseil, Shauseil Consulting

“As a business not normally associated with the adult nightclub industry, we found EXPO to be a terrific venue. There were a number of strong clubs and booking agencies we felt we could do future business. We’re excited to be working with the adult nightclub professionals and look forward to what there future holds.”
— Vanessa Meyer, Chatstar

“We loved the EXPO! We were attendees who became exhibitors and that made a great decision. For us, we do better business through networking than actual booth traffic, but overall it was a great show for our company by helping us make new connections in the adult nightclub industry.”
— Stephanie Veil of Duncan Investments

“I didn’t get the chance to make it to NOLA, but the response I received back from our salespeople was fantastic. We opened new accounts but also got to spend time with those club owners we already do business with, always important to us at G&G.  Pay-per-view sporting events shown in adult nightclubs have proven to work, and we’re excited to get even more clubs involved the more we exhibited at EXPO and met those club owners who can make a difference to our business.”
— Nick Gagliardi, G&G Closed Circuit Events

"Overall, I was impressed with EXPO. Compared to other shows we exhibit at, EXPO proved to be very successful, and we had a good response with our new money sorter. It’s a high-ticket item but one that will greatly improve any club owner’s cashflow. I was most impressed with how the nightly events were set up and that everyone stuck with each other during the entire show; that shows a real camaraderie that you don’t typically associate with conventions. It’s just another example of how unique this industry is, and we’re glad to be part of it."
— Dan Nelson of Klopp International

“We’re a start-up company, only 18 months old, so EXPO 2015 was almost our grand introduction to the adult nightclub industry, and we’re really happy with what we saw in New Orleans.  We opened several accounts while at the show and hoped to open even more with the contacts we made.  We’re an inventory software company that has a lot to offer club owners to control costs and more effectively manage their bar costs. We’re excited to be working with adult nightclub owners and look forward to what the future holds.”
— Julian Miller of  Partender

“The best thing about EXPO is an exhibitor doesn’t need to feel like there should be 60,000 attendees to make the show successful. For us, for what we saw at EXPO, it’s more of a quantity over quality.  This was an excellent show that allowed us to speak directly to club owners, both large chains, and independents, about our new POS program that can dramatically increase their sales performance.”
— Matt Wambach of 2 Touch POS

“This was my eighth show and by far one of the best. From being in NOLA alone, we signed 12 new clients with more to come after all our follow-up. Club apps are becoming necessary for this industry, and we’re happy to provide.  When you’re looking to do business in the adult nightclub industry, there’s no better place to do it than at EXPO.”
— David Burney of Cabaret Apps

You did it again! Great Expo! Good show, man, good show.
— Jonathan Lee Harris, Archibald’s, Washington DC

Great Expo this year. I really like the new format and thought the Keynote (by Tim Kirkland) was great.
— Micheal Ocello, VCG/PT’s Showclubs

As always it was great to be part of the Expo. Had more fun doing it this year then ever; great subject and a fantastic audience.
— Jim St. John, Spearmint Rhino

Thank you so much for letting me be a part of your panel, I enjoyed it! Promoting is my passion, I’ve written a couple of books, so if you ever need people to motivate people to promote please count me in.
— Sherry Cooper, Deja Vu Showgirls

It was a wonderful experience, thanks for your help!
— Andrew, Golden Girls, Russia

We have written two clubs which we met at the EXPO and definitely more than paid for our investment.
— Bob Ramsey, Brown & Brown Insurance

The conference so far seems to have worked out great. We definitely fostered some fantastic relationships that will hopefully turn out to be quite fruitful. One thing that could be improved upon for next year was how loud the music was in the Tradeshow. Other than that, everything else was great, especially the (ACE) meet and greet. I appreciate all of your help and how attentive you’ve been.
— George Kobakov, VP of Operations, SocialHP

This was our third time exhibiting at the show. Second time on our own, I have yet to be disappointed. The time, effort and attention to detail you and the entire staff devote to putting this together is obvious. This was our most productive show to date. We look forward to the next show as well as being the most consistent, reliable exhibitor offering processing services and more to the industry as we go forward. You are all greatly appreciated.
— Miriam Ramos, SEVP of Business Development, Platinum Processing

The Expo has already paid off for us. I am extremely pleased with the both the set-up and attendance. I look forward to being a participant for years to come! Thank you again for working with us on such short notice!
—Dave Smart, The Clements Agency, LLC

Thanks for all the hard work. The show was good for Omega. As you know, Omega supports and will always support the expo; it is a great way for our customer service team to have face to face time with our long time clients. I loved the hours this year. I don’t think having it a day earlier was a major effect on attendance.
— Chet Graham, Marquis Industries, Inc. (Omega Pattern Works)

“One of the things that stuck with us from the EXPO this year was Eric Langan’s acceptance speech for Rick’s Cabaret upon winning the Club Chain of the Year at the awards show. He spoke about the realization of his own recognition as an industry leader when he noticed people staring and pointing in his direction at this year’s EXPO. And he mentioned that he himself had done the same thing years back when he was working his way up the industry ladder; looking up to and admiring the leaders of that era. He reminded us all where he has been and encouraged us to work our own way up that ladder. Very motivating.”
—Skindustry Contests

"I want to start off by saying that we almost didn’t come to EXPO this year. To say it has been a year of trials and tribulations would be an understatement.  That being said, we are so glad we made the trip. It was so wonderful seeing old friends, getting to know acquaintances better and making knew friends. Both ED Publications and DJ Platypus and all the plat crew did an AMAZING job. Best awards show ever. And to all of the nominees, congrats. Both Wild J and I wish everyone a very prosperous upcoming year.”
—Michelle Snyder Mowery, Wild J’s Gentleman’s Club

“Once again thank you for your hard work to bring together another wonderful and productive show for us, and I am certain for all of the other vendors as well. Our second EXPO was very productive and the people and the ED staff were very welcoming. We look forward to continuing and growing our relationship with your organization and the adult nightclub industry. Again, thank you for all you do.”
—Alan Brickman, Joe Hand Promotions

"I thought the show was fabulous. The buyers and owners I spoke with were the quality I look for. The show was well put together, everyone I interacted with from your team was enthusiastic and helpful—they were ready and willing to assist in any way I needed them. The work behind the scenes was more than obvious. I know you all worked hard and it showed. Great job!!”
—Miriam Ramos, Platinum Processing

"I thought this was a good EXPO. I had a lot of my people at this one. I heard over and over from the veterans that this was one of the best if not the best EXPO and Tradeshow they had ever attended. Thank you for including Hal (Lowrie) in the Hall of Fame, it truly meant a lot to Troy and to me.”
— Micheal Ocello, VCG Holding Corp.

"ClubCam Systems had a highly successful 2013 EXPO. This was our fourth year as an exhibitor and definitely our best. We were very pleased at the caliber level of both individual and club chain owners who spent a great deal of time in our booth. The ambient sound from the main stage was much better controlled, allowing us to participate in some great presentations of our products with the attendees. Our phone and emails are still receiving follow up interest contacts from the club owners and DJs we met at the show.
“Also wanted to take my hat off to you for the caliber of the awards show at the House of Blues, it was definitely our favorite from the last four.”
— Don Kleinhans, ClubCam Systems

"We would like to thank everyone at ED Publications for our greatest EXPO yet. We are still humbled and in shock from the Awards Show.We have been reading Club Bulletin for the better part of a decade. It has educated us on the different styles of clubs, legal issues, issues other clubs are dealing with, music and who the owners are and how they came to be. It has also educated us on products that we use.
For those vendors that don’t believe in the EXPO, this is for them. Without it we would not have developed relationships with Pure Risk Solutions, Platinum Poles, KG Furniture, Modern Line Furniture, Winston Hines, Voss Water, Joe Hand Productions, Omega Pattern Carpets, Eric Bernstein and Associates, Gent Club Shirts, EnteLeis, David Chesal, XGenRen and Royal Sovereign. The EXPO works.”
—Jerry Kim, Charles Bass, Darren Bass, Jordan Bass and all the staff at Babe’s NOLA

“I just wanted to drop a note and say BRAVO once again for a job well done!   Looking forward to 2014...”
